A reader poll by Maxim Magazine's German office shows little
warming of James Bond fans to newly appointed 007 Daniel
Craig.

Earning less than 8% of the approval vote, Craig trails in
popularity behind Rikki Lee Travolta, George Clooney, Clive
Owen, Goran Visnjic, and Henry Cavill.

Front runner in voter preference Travolta and third ranking
Owen both were offered the role of James Bond prior to Craig,
but declined the offer. Hugh Jackman also declined an offer to
play the British icon super sleuth.

Popular or not, Daniel Craig is scheduled to make his first
appearance as James Bond in the 2006 release "Casino
Royale."

Craig was unveiled to the media as the heir to the James Bond
role by producer Michael G. Wilson, producer Barbara
Broccoli, and director Martin Campbell on October 14.

Previous actors to play Secret Agent 007 include Sean
Connery, David Niven, Geroge Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy
Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan.

Owen is in discussions for a sequel to 2005's ultra popular
"Sin City", Jackman is filming "X-Men III" and announced he
will tour Australia in the stage musical "The Boy From Oz",
and Travolta is expected to sign to play "Captain America" on
film and return to Broadway in "Bye Bye Birdie."

At five-foot, ten-inches tall Craig will be the first actor under
six-foot tall to play James Bond. He is also the first blond actor
to play the role.
