Spyfail? Really? They are going to make it that easy on us….. alrighty then.
Today’s press conference confirmed many of the expected casting announcements and locations. (as we have been keeping tack of and discussing in our forum all day)
“Just the facts, ma’am” version:
- Skyfall will be shot on location in London, Shanghai in China, Istanbul in Turkey, and Scotland.
- Javier Bardem is the primary antagonist of the film.
- The film is not related to any Ian Fleming Story.
- Skyfall will be a standalone story and QUANTUM will not figure into the plot
- Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes are all confirmed to have roles in Skyfall.
- Bérénice Marlohe will portray a “glamorous enigmatic” character named Severine.
- Naomie Harris will be playing a field agent named Eve (She was previously rumored to be the next Moneypenny, and some places have her Eve character rumored as becoming the next Moneypenny )
- The title “has some emotional context which will be revealed in the film.”
Official synopsis:
In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Shanghai is nice location, although I wish filmmakers would look to other sites in China not so well known in the West.
SKYFALL is a terrible title for a James Bond film. The plot is tired and predictable, and Daniel Craig, although a good actor, is not well directed and not portraying the charming and deadly Bond, only the deadly Bond.
