With only three months to go before its release wouldn't a would-be blockbuster like a new Bond film be on the top of everyone's list for the must-see film of the rest of 2006? You would think so, but some unfortunate but revealing web site statistics say otherwise.
Ongoing surveys on movie fan websites like The-Numbers.com and Comingsoon.net indicate a unusual lack of interest in the new Bond film, especially when you consider that there hasn't been a new Bond film in four years.
On The-Numbers.com there is a survey that shows which film is generating the most interest based on visits to each movie's page on this site.
The-Numbers.com Most Popular Movies:
One click on the link above page says it all. Out of 100 hundred current and future releases, as recent as Miami Vice, as near as the sixth Rocky sequel Rocky Balboa in December and as far-flung as Indiana Jones 4 possibly due in 2007, Casino Royale is nowhere to be found! How can that be? This is James Bond right? Well it just gets worse.
ComingSoon.net Top Previews:
Here again we have 25 films listed and whether they are familiar names of movie sequels or all new films, Casino Royale is not one them.
The Week of July 23 - 29, 2006:

Whether you're a Craig supporter or a boycotter, you have to admit that this is a disturbing trend, and if you think that Daniel Craig as Bond has nothing to do with it, it's time to wake up and smell the dry vodka martini.
